Bring Forth The Unseen

Mixed media collage on canvas. This work explores the perpetual inner battle between our ego and the courage to feel comfortable as we find power in our true selves. The piece began when we cut out a striking black and white image of a child and gave her jagged wings. This, along with her curious expression and cautious position, told us a story that developed on the canvas with images from various old books about the Renaissance. Details, color and shading were added with oil and acrylic paint, as well as black charcoal,
